BezelMouse is made by Trisdia, LLC (“Trisdia,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers this website, bezelmouse.com, including the waitlist for BezelMouse. Trisdia, LLC is the data controller for everything described here.

The short version: BezelMouse is not out yet, and nothing on this site can be downloaded or bought. If you join our waitlist, we keep your email address so we can tell you when it is available and send you occasional product news, until you unsubscribe. We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and this site sets no cookies of its own. We count visits with privacy-friendly analytics that do not track you across sites.

1. The waitlist

Until BezelMouse is released, the site asks for an email address to tell you when it is. Joining is optional, and the rest of the site works without it.

• What we store. Your email address, the time you joined and the language of the page you used, in a database hosted by Upstash.
• Emails. When you join, we send you one email confirming that you are on the list, in the language of the page you used, and we send ourselves a note that you joined. We email you to say BezelMouse is available and, from time to time, with BezelMouse product news. These go through Resend. We do not share your address with anyone else to email you.
• Abuse prevention. We count signups per IP address, kept for one hour, and confirmation emails per address, kept for one day, and the form uses the bot protection described in section 4.

2. Buying BezelMouse

BezelMouse is not on sale yet, and the site has no checkout. What follows describes how buying will work once it is, so you can read it before deciding; none of it happens today.

• Who sells it to you. Checkout runs on Stripe using Stripe Managed Payments, so Stripe (with its Link service) is the seller of record for your purchase. Stripe collects your card or other payment details, your name, email address and billing address, works out any sales tax or VAT, and handles receipts, refunds and disputes. We never see your full card number. Stripe processes that information under its privacy policy.
• What Stripe shares with us. Your name, email address, billing country and address, what you paid, the tax, and whether the payment went through. These stay in our Stripe account, where we use them for support, refunds and our own tax records.
• What we store. Your email address, the Stripe order and checkout numbers, your license key, the amount and currency, and the time of purchase, in a database hosted by Upstash. We keep this so we can send your key again. Your license key itself contains your email address and order number, so the app can check it without going online. The app passes it only to your own paired Macs, over their encrypted connection.
• Emails. After you pay, we email you your license key, and we send ourselves a note that a sale happened. Both go through Resend. If you use the “email my key again” form, we email any keys bought with that address to that address, and we never say on the page whether an order exists.
• The thank-you page. Its address contains your Stripe checkout number so it can show your key. That part of the address is removed before page views reach our analytics.
• Abuse prevention. We count checkout attempts and key resend requests per IP address, kept for one hour, and resend requests per email address, kept for one day. The resend form also uses the bot protection described in section 4.

3. The contact form

• What we receive. The name (if you give one), email address, topic and message you send. It arrives as an email in our mailbox, sent through Resend, and we use your address only to reply. The site does not store it anywhere else, and we do not email the address you type in unless we are replying.
• Abuse prevention. We count messages per IP address, kept for one hour, and the form uses the bot protection described below.

4. Bot protection

The waitlist form and the contact form are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. It runs invisibly, with nothing for you to click. To do that check, Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser and device signals, and issues a token that our server verifies with Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes that information under its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

5. Visiting the site

Like any website, our host, Vercel, receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page, and keeps short-lived server logs to run and secure the site. The clock in the page illustration is read from your own device and never sent anywhere.

Update checks. Unless you turn automatic checks off in its settings, the BezelMouse app asks this site a few times a day whether there is a newer version. That request carries the app’s version and the kind of Mac it runs on (for example, macOS on Apple silicon), and, like any request, your IP address. It carries nothing that identifies you or your Macs, we do not record it beyond our host’s short-lived logs, and updates are downloaded from the service storing the file only when you choose to install one.

The license check. On a Mac with a license key, the app asks this site about once a day for the list of orders whose keys no longer work, so a refunded or revoked key stops working. The list names orders only by a one-way code, and your Mac compares it itself. With that request the app sends two more one-way codes: one made from your order number and one made from an identifier for that Mac. The code for the Mac is only a number to us: it tells one Mac apart from another and says nothing about which Mac it is. The code for your order we can match back to the order, and so to your email address, since we hold the orders ourselves; that is how we can write to you about a key. We use them for one purpose: counting how many different Macs a single key is being used on, because a license is for one person and the Macs that person uses. If a key turns up on far more Macs than that, we write to the email address on the order first, and only revoke the key if it carries on; section 12 of the terms of sale describes this. We keep a key’s count of Macs for 120 days after the last check and no longer. The check is part of using a licensed copy, so it cannot be switched off in the app: a copy with no license key never asks us anything, a Mac that is offline keeps working with the list it already has, and you can ask us about what we hold, or object to it, through the contact form.

Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read. For each page view it records the page address, the site you came from, your approximate location (country, region and city), and your device type, operating system and browser. It does not use cookies. To count unique visitors without storing who you are, it uses a hash made from your request that is discarded after 24 hours, and it does not follow you across other websites. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking tools.

6. Who processes data for us

These companies handle data only to provide the part of the site named:

• Vercel: hosting this website, and aggregate analytics.
• Stripe: checkout, payments, tax, receipts and refunds, as seller of record, once it is on sale.
• Upstash: storing waitlist addresses, orders and license keys, the rate-limit counters, and the license check’s count of how many Macs a key has been seen on.
• Resend: sending license key emails, emails to the waitlist, and contact form messages to us.
• Cloudflare: Turnstile bot protection on the waitlist, key resend and contact forms.

Trisdia is based in the United States, and these providers operate there and in other countries. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

• Your waitlist email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
• Orders and license keys: for as long as we sell and support BezelMouse, so we can send your key again. You can ask us to delete yours; we then can’t resend it, and Stripe keeps its own records as tax law requires.
• Rate-limit counters: one hour, or one day for waitlist confirmation emails per email address.
• The license check’s count of Macs per key: the coded numbers are kept for 120 days after the last check with that key, and then forgotten.
• Contact form messages: in our mailbox, for as long as we need them to help you.
• Analytics: only as aggregate statistics; the visitor hash is discarded after 24 hours.
• Emails we sent or received about your order or waitlist signup: in our mailbox and Resend’s logs, for their normal retention.

8. Why we are allowed to process it

Where a legal basis is required: your consent, for the waitlist and its emails; our contract with you, for your purchase, your license key and the emails about it; your request, for answering a message you send us; legal obligations, for tax records; and our legitimate interests, for keeping the site secure, understanding aggregate use of the site, and protecting what we sell: seeing whether one license key is being used by more people than it covers, and acting on it as the terms of sale describe.

9. Your rights and choices

• Unsubscribe at any time with the unsubscribe link in any product news email, or by emailing bezelmouse@trisdia.com. We will delete your address.
• Access, correct or delete what we hold about you by emailing us at the address below or through the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.
• Complain to your data-protection authority if you are in the EEA or UK. We would rather hear from you first.
• California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You have the rights to know, delete, correct and not be discriminated against, exercised as above.

10. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your waitlist email, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
